Our founder / owner - Mark Olson has been in the fencing industry for over 28 years. SWi was founded in 2015. Like many Florida residents, Mark is not originally from St. Augustine. "My wife and I came to St. Augustine to visit and literally never went home! We are proud to be full-time residents of St. Augustine, Florida and we are proud to make our community better, safer, and more beautiful - with high-quality fencing materials and superior fence installation techniques."

Each type of fence has its advantages for specific situations. St. Augustine, like all of Florida, has serious heat and humidity issues to consider. These can be tough on a fence. My experience is that the QUALITY of the fence and the materials you are using is more important than the type of fence. Wood fences, for example, can withstand the harsh St. Augustine climate if you use a higher grade wood and take care to either pre-stain the wood or seal the wood regularly. Unfortunately, we have found that some local fence companies in St. Augustine use low grade lumber when building their fences. This becomes obvious just a year or two later when the fence is already beginning to fail. Aluminum fencing, vinyl fencing, and chain link fencing are all good options for St. Augustine residents - depending on the specific needs of your situation. Again, the quality of the materials that are being used and the quality of the installation are more important than the specific type of fence you choose.
